I need to know that someone out there feels this way, too.. w4m I just need to know that somewhere out there, someone is going through and feeling the same things that I am. I'm a pretty spiritual being (not religious, per se, mind you) and I know there are others here. I feel them. I just can't seem to connect. I have amazing friends, I have family, and I have the necessities in life. I don't, however, have that bond I'm longing for. Someone who 'gets it'. Someone who doesn't feel the need to play games or deceive those around them to get what they want. Someone who is genuinely looking for that counterpart as well, and would do just about anything (with honor and grace) to find it - and hold on to it.
I will say that I am an old soul. I'm young in age (almost 30), but feel like I've been here for ages, just waiting. I've had love drift in and out of my life, but haven't managed to hold on to it, for whatever reasons. I'm posting this in the platonic section because I believe a connection like the one I'm searching for doesn't simply pop into existence from a date, and certainly not from casual sex or jumping straight into a relationship. Sure, I'm just as impatient as the next person to find love and a romance to conquer all, but I've been told that amazing things don't come easily, and I believe that.

I'm not interested (at the present) in trivial things like physical appearance or what you do for a living, etc. I know chemistry and attraction are extremely important when it comes to love, but I don't want to base the connection on it. That's just lust, and I've had enough of it to last a lifetime (or two). Besides, I'd rather find someone I connect with and care for who I'm not attracted to (or the other way around) than find someone I'm attracted to without any emotional connection. Everyone needs more friends, no matter how amazing the friends they already have are. :)

I will respond and get to know you whether you're in a very happy relationship or you're single and searching for something more as I am - but the end hope is that I will find someone with whom I can grow with from friendship to love.
